The Governor of Jubek State has on Monday issued an order prohibiting sale of fuel and exchange of dollar in black market within Juba City.
Augustino Jadalla instructed the Mayor of Juba City Council, police and security organs to take necessary steps to implement the order, Radio Bakhita reports.
The official fuel price in all filling stations is 22 South Sudanese pounds per littre while in the streets market, a littre and half of fuel is about 150 pounds.
Shortage of US dollars in commercial banks has forced traders and the public to exchange foreign currency in black market higher than the official rate.
