The President of the Republic left Juba on Monday for Cairo for bilateral talks with his Egyptian counterpart, Abdel Fatah El Sisi.
Presidential spokesman Ateny Wek Ateny told reporters at Juba International Airport that President Salva Kiir is expected to spend two days in Cairo.
The two leaders and their cabinet ministers would hold discussions in relation to bilateral ties between the Juba and Cairo, he noted.
Ateny said President Kiir is visiting Egypt in response to the invitation his Egyptian counterpart El- Sisi extended to him.
He added that President Salva Kiir will appreciate the role Egypt played in supporting South Sudan in the UN Security Council.
Ateny added that the President is also expected to appreciate Egypt for offering education to many South Sudanese.
President Kiir is also expected to extend a similar invitation to his Egyptian counterpart, he disclosed.
