Drinking water remains a challenge in Tonj

Many water sources in Tonj town are broken down, making it difficult for people to get drinking water.
 
A restaurant owner Nyandit Akol says they are buying water expensively because of few water points in the area, Radio Don Bosco reports.
 
She adds that water sellers raised water cost from three to five pounds per jerricane due to the increase of prices in the market.
 
Aluel Isaac complains that getting water takes much time as people move long distance to fetch.
 
A shisha seller, Akec Biet says he spends much money on water.
 
The residents are requesting the government to construct boreholes or repair the broken ones.
 
Akol Got-bai who owns a well says he does not charge anyone coming to fetch water from it, though he dug it with his own money.
 
He encourages others to do the same.
