The choir of St Augustine of the Holy Family Cathedral on Friday won a singing competition organized by Rumbek Diocesan Liturgical Committee.
The competition was to improve the liturgy and the evangelization in the diocese, Radio Good News reports.
Three parishes and a sub-parish took part in the race.
Sacred Heart Parish becomes the second, Holy Cross sub-parish third and St Theresa took the fourth position.
Rumbek Diocesan Coordinator Fr John Mathiang Machol advises losers not to get discouraged.
He appeals to the youth not to create enmity amongst themselves, but build unity and among the people of God.
Coordinator Mathiang reminds the choir that singing competition is for peace and promotion of love and unity among other members.
This is the first singing competition in the Catholic Diocese of Rumbek.
