An 18-year old lady has been killed while six others injured when a gunman opened fire on Friday evening at Lomuku area in Yei.
The incident happened when mourners were attending a last funeral rite, Radio Easter reports.
The shooting took place at 10:30 PM, local residents and police authorities say.
The victims who are being treated in local health facilities say they were caught up by surprise.
Eyewitnesses suspected unnamed tall and familiar person behind the attack.
One suspect linked to the shooting was arrested and is undergoing investigations, says Fikri Fahad Omar, Acting Chief Inspector of Police in Yei River County.
The Inspector advises residents to avoid taking much alcohol and unnecessarily move with guns in public gatherings.
