The Military Civil Engagement Program was held on Wednesday to improve relations between the military and the civil population, Radio Easter reports.

The security situation has so much improved in the town following the arrival of the new force, says Stephen Ladu Onesimo, State Minister of Information.

He comments that restoring the relationship between civilians and the army is a long awaited initiative.

Catholic Bishop of Yei Erkolano Lodu commends the SPLA and stakeholders for the trust, saying churches and civilians want a friendly relation with the military.

He repeats that the church remains a neutral body to resolve grievances.
