The Auxiliary Bishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Juba says as long as villages are occupied by army, there will be no national reconciliation.

Bishop Santo Loku Pio says the presence of army among civilians is against them, Radio Bakhita reports.

He calls on the soldiers to go to the barracks.

Bishop Loku says guns should be collected not only from civilians, but also from soldiers for national reconciliation to be effective.

He cautions bad leaders to be good this year for displaced people to go back to their various places.

Bishop Loku also calls for the return of guns to the store.

He recalls that 2016 was a bad year, associated with fear, hatred, looting, killing, displacement and rape.

Bishop Loku hopes that last year’s situation will not continue this year.

Bishop Santo Loku was preaching on Sunday marking the solemnity of Mary Mother of God.
