Tonj East peace initiative returns to Tonj

Tonj East Peace Initiative that left the town on December 12, returned to the area after accomplishing its mobilization work at the community level.
 
Radio Don Bosco reports that the group appreciates the state government and the people of Tonj for supporting the project.
 
Ajuong Magong, Peace Initiative chairman says they toured all the six counties of former Tonj East and found no conflict, cattle rustling and revenge killings among the people.
 
The committee reported that the communities they visited practice agriculture and cattle raring in all areas.
 
He ralos reported overwhelming and joyful reception showed by their communities.
 
Magong points out lack of transport and clean drinking water that they encountered in the field.
 
He acknowledges good organization the local authorities provided at various counties they visited.
 
Magong adds that they convened different meetings with chiefs and youth leaders from the cattle camps under the auspices of the commissioners.
 
It was difficult to reach most of the cattle camps that went to swampy areas searching for pasture, he says.
