About seventy school children are attending holiday skills training at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Primary School in Torit.

The five-day training known as summer camping that started on Monday was organized by the Catholic Diocese of Torit, Radio Emmanuel reports.

The workshop aims to improve the skills of pupils to enable them help their parents and the elders in the community during holidays, says Fr Noel Ogwagu, Parish Priest of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary.

He says children need special knowledge to grow responsibly with the help of their parents and community members.

Paska Hifita Oduho is the former Education Minister in Eastern Equatoria State. She says children need to understand how to interact with their parents and communities.
