IOM to reduce risk of transmission of HIV in South Sudan

International Organization for Migration or IOM says it is working to reduce the risk of transmission of HIV/AIDS and increase treatment, care and support in South Sudan.
 
IOM’s in a statement on Tuesday CRN saw said its prevention programme aims to reduce the prevalence of the virus in the young country.
 
Health officers prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV through testing of pregnant women and treating those found positive at the UN camps in Bentiu, Malakal and Wau, added the statement.
 
IOM said it is linking people living with HIV and survivors of gender-based violence with trained counselors and support groups in UN camps.
