Four grass houses of Hussein Mohammed were reduced to ashes in Ndrudu area of Heiban County in Nuba Mountains.
At least 12 goats, hens, a sorghum barn among many other things got burnt inside when the houses caught fire at ten O’clock PM, Radio Voice of Peace reported.
All the four huts and things were burnt because many villagers were not around to rescue them at night.
Mohammed’s wife told witnesses that she lit fire with sorghum stoke to find a rat that was eating some bags and the fire caught a sack by mistake.
