The only way to change South Sudan from hopelessness to peace is forgiveness, says Assistant Parish Priest of St Kizito in the Catholic Archdiocese of Juba.
Fr Jackson Yuggusuk says without forgiveness, the offenders and the offended will remain slaves in minds and souls.
He says unconditional forgiveness benefits perpetrators and the victims mentally and physically.
Remembering mid-December 2013 massacre in Juba, Fr Yuggusuk urges the offenders to ask for forgiveness from the families of the victims.
The Assistant Parish Priest of St Kizito decries prevailing situation of violence, hatred and other atrocities, stressing that pardon is the only cure for despair.
The priest says forgiving without forgetting is nothing because it shows misleading notion of forgiveness.
