Peace Commission of Tonj East Students’ Union on Monday left Tonj South to talk to their communities about peace in the area, says Committee Chairperson.
Joseph Ajuong told Radio Don Bosco that the government facilitated their journey and connected them with county commissioners to secure them.
Kuei Peter Dier, one of the members said they see changes after the group talked to Tonj East communities last year.
She urged the state government to support peace initiatives to achieve tranquility in greater Tonj.
The Peace Commission comprising of twenty men and four ladies is expected to cover Tonj East within seven days.
Last year fighting broke out between two communities in Tonj East, leaving ninety-four people dead and many others wounded.
The same committee went to calm down the security situation.
