Maridi State government on Thursday donated 85 bags of rice to internal displaced persons or IDPs from Tore County of Yei River State.
The donation is meant to help the 500 IDPs displaced by the recent fighting in Yei, said Kindoson Kindo, Governor Press Secretary, Radio Anisa reported.
While receiving the donation the IDPs, appreciated Maridi State Governor for his generosity, reported the Secretary.
The IDPs accused both armed men and government forces of killing innocent civilians and looting their property.
Maridi State Minister of Information, Peter Saki, welcomed the IDPs and promised government’s full support to them.
Creation of 28 States was not to divide the people, but to promote development in South Sudan, he added.
