South Sudan to celebrate International Human Rights Day Monday

South Sudan in collaboration with UN Mission in the country is expected on Monday to celebrate International Human Rights Day in Juba.
 
The theme of this year commemoration is: ‘Stand up for someone’s rights today’.
 
Theme of the Human Rights Day 2016 reminds all people of their collective role in the promoting and protecting human rights in South Sudan, says Eugene Nindorera, UNMISS Human Rights Director.
 
The world commemorates the Day on Saturday, but South Sudan adjourns because it falls on a weekend.
 
People will gather at Dr John Garang Mausoleum and march to Nyakuron Cultural Centre for the celebration.
 
Top national and state governments officials, UN, civil society organizations and students are expected to attend the event.
