Insecurity increases HIV/AIDS infections in Western Equatoria, says South Sudan AIDS Commission Director.
James Rundial says when insecurity is rampant, displaced people do not control themselves from unprotected sex, Radio Anisa reports.
He spoke on Wednesday during the training of Yambio residents on understanding the coordination of HIV/AIDS programs in the Equatoria region.
Rundial says South Sudan AIDS Commission will continue lobbying partners for more funds to provide anti-retroviral drugs and create awareness.
Lino Utu, Gbudwe State Health Minister, calls for behavioural change to reduce the rate of new infections.
Meanwhile Peter Daniel Kisira, Acting Director of Western Equatoria AIDS Commission says insecurity makes them unable to distribute drugs to all centres.
He advises young people to protect themselves from getting new infections.
Kisira calls on everybody to go for voluntary counselling and testing to know their status.
