One thousand nine hundred homes were destroyed in Yei between September and November this year, says US Ambassador to South Sudan.

Ambassador Catherine Molly Phee believes majority of the atrocities were committed by militias affiliated to both government and opposition forces.

Ambassador Phee calls on the people of South Sudanese to stop fighting and create a peaceful situation to use human and natural resources for development.

She recommends that dialogue is a key to end the rising insecurity in the country to boost development.

The US Ambassador spoke after visiting Yei River and talked to religious leaders who reported that citizens fear due to rising insecurity in the state.
