People in Ndraffi of Kumbur Payam in Nuba Mountains have lost money and property to fire.
One man lost thousands of pounds, clothes and food items, Radio Voice of Peace reports.
Jamal Alamin John, whose house burnt on Monday, says they left for garden when fire broke out without any rescue effort.
He says children were cooking food and accidently put the house on fire.
Alamin says some money equivalent to 58 US Dollars was burnt including clothes and other property.
Miningo Anur, whose house was also burnt, claims that a lot of property was destroyed including two hens.
She says she was around but could not know the cause of the fire.
Anur prays that God may have mercy on her not to experience such situation again.
