SPLM-N signs Action Plan to end recruitment of children in conflict

SPLM-N signed an Action Plan with the United Nations to end recruitment and use of children in conflict on Wednesday in Geneva, Switzerland.
 
The Plan includes a series of measures to end and prevent the recruitment, use and association of all children under 18 with the SPLM-N.
 
In press statement CRN got, chairman of the SPLM-N Malik Agar expressed strong commitment to protect children in the conflict.
 
He committed to ensure the release of children present in their ranks and take necessary measures to stop child recruitment and use.
 
Agar pledged that SPLM-N will appointment high-level officer to act as focal point to coordinate with the UN to ensure full implementation of the Plan.
 
He said the party will facilitate the reintegration of the children in their communities.
 
UN is ready to support the full implementation of the Action Plan, said Sudan Monitoring and Reporting taskforce, Marta Ruedas.
 
I am encouraged by the signing of the Action Plan by the SPLM-N, said Leila Zerrougui, Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict.
