Residents and government of Imotong State are celebrating the first harvest of the demonstration farm which produced hundreds of bags of food to be sold in the local market to reduce commodity prices.
The Green Horizon project of the Global Company was introduced in May to help locals produce food and decrease imports, Radio Emmanuel reports.
Ran Drir, Farm Chief Agronomist says the show registered great success worth hundreds of bags to be sold at cheap price to help reduce importing food commodities.
Drir says the farm will next week introduce irrigation project to produce vegetables on a large scale.
Produce short term crops, Nartisio Loluke, Imotong State Governor, encourages the locals.
He appreciates the Global Company’s great effort to produce food for the people of the state.
In the Green Horizon firm in Bur, products like maize, sorghum and millet are packed in its brand bags of fifty and ten kilogram ready for sale in the local market.
