Yei River Transitional Legislative Assembly Committee has released a fact-finding report following the current insecurity in the state.
Chairperson of the committee Esther Longuru while presenting the report, highlighted issues of killings, rape, torture, looting of people’s properties, arbitrary arrests, disappearance of people and displacements, radio Easter reports.
The report observed that the authorities did not regularly sensitize the local population on the current security situation for citizens to trust their government.
MP Jacob Kineyasuk urges concerned authorities to address insecurity for the civil population to feel legislators’ role as the voice of the voiceless.
Yei River among other states has been going through security catastrophe since the conflict broke out in Juba in July.
