Imotong State Ministry of Education in collaboration with Caritas Switzerland on Wednesday started training inspectors and supervisors from various primary schools in Torit on assessment tools.

The course will help the ministry measure and realize quality education and performance, says Attari Jacob Albano, Minister of Education, Radio Emmanuel reports.

The minister attributes poor performance of schools to lack of proper inspection and supervision.

The training came at the right time after schools suffered for long without proper tools to measure performance, says Emmanuel Kenyi, Caritas Switzerland team leader for Girls Education Program South Sudan.

Kenyi urges participants to make use of the skills in order to improve the quality of education in the state.

The five-day workshop attracted 60 participants from the three counties of Torit to carry out proper inspection in schools for better performance.
