South Sudanese women want the government to support their businesses to realize affirmative action plan, provided in the peace agreement and national action plan, 2015 to 2020.

Ambassador Joseph Ayok Anei, Undersecretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs says some women asked him about how the government can empower their businesses.
He acknowledges that most women are the ones feeding their families with small businesses such as tea making, fruits and food selling.

Amidst economic hardships in South Sudan, the government agreed to pay 41 million US Dollars to Ugandan traders whose commodities were looted during July violence.
But, the South Sudanese women call for business empowerment still remains in limbo.
