Wau State Ministry of Health on Tuesday launched third round of polio vaccination campaign to immune children against the disease.

Salah Abu Algasim State Deputy Director of EPI explains that the campaign targets one thousand and thirty-five children under five years, Radio Voice of Hope reports.

The immunization has vaccines and vitamin ‘A’ and de-worm tablet, he adds.

Abu Algasim says there is no polio virus in South Sudan, but the government is preventing children due to movements of the disease from the foreign countries.

The Deputy Director appeals to parents to cooperate with the vaccinators to allow their children to get polio vaccine to prevent them from the diseases.

The campaign that started on Tuesday in partnership with government and World Health Organization, UNICEF and other partners is expect to end on Friday.
