Polio immunization campaign on Tuesday started in Tonj State, Assistant Field Officer discloses.
Samuel Manyiel Ater says they sent a team to vaccinate children from zero to five years to avoid eye problem and de-worming diseases, Radio Don Bosco reported.
The third campaign will continue for four days and the last will be done in December, he adds.
Manyiel points out that they will involve village chiefs to convince communities so that parents bring their children for vaccination.
He appeals to parents to cooperate with the vaccinators to eradicate polio in the state particularly and South Sudan in general.
The polio immunization campaign is supported by World Health Organization and UNICEF in collaboration with the National Ministry of Health.
