The internally displaced persons or IDPs from Ezo County and Nadiangere Payam of Yambio County who fled to Yangiri are in dire need, says the Parish Priest of St Luke the Evangelist Catholic.
Fr Luke Yugue describes the situation of the IDPs arriving to Yangiri every day as ‘miserable’, Radio Anisa reports.
He reveals that those who fled from Nadiangere crossed River Sue by boat to reach Yangiri for safety.
Fr Yugue consoles the IDPs and encourages them to have hope in God for the better future of South Sudan.
He appeals to citizens of Gbudue State and South Sudan to discharge any form of revenge and embrace reconciliation for lasting peace to prevail.
The priest appeals to the IDPs to avoid discrimination, hate speech and rumour mongering that can easily destroy the community.
The Church and the community leaders in Yangiri Payam started registering the IDPs to get humanitarian help.
