United Nation should be pro-active than being reactive if it wants to prevent atrocities from being committed, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Yei cautions United nations Mission in South Sudan or UNMISS.

Bishop Erkolano Lodu Tombe says many times UNMISS waits until situations become worst, Radio Easter reported.

The Mission is a big international body that should prevent incidences from happening, he adds.

Bishop Lodu also asks the UNMISS to take time to visit the army prison to witness the suffering of the innocent civilians being imprisoned there

The Bishop made the call during a visit of a six member team of the UNMISS which met the church leaders on Wednesday
