Authorities of Western Lakes appealed to the United Nations Mission in South Sudan or UNMISS on Thursday to train farmers in the state to boost productivity.
Director-General in the Ministry of Agriculture John Malith Rual called for empowerment of farmers in order to produce more food, Radio Good News reports.
Daniel Dut Makuet, Information Minister, told development partners to help the state because flood affected all crops, resulting to zero production.
Lois Agum Rueben, Deputy Governor requested the head of UNMISS to help the government by fencing Rumbek airport to save lives.
Governor Abraham Makoi Bol Kodi welcomed the head of Mission and her accompanying delegation to Rumbek.
He appreciated UN Agencies’ support to South Sudanese by keeping peace and providing services in terms of training and implementation of the agreement.
