Women groups in the Catholic Diocese of Rumbek are participating in one-week trauma healing and transformation workshop under the theme: ‘Women and girls of Rumbek say no to revenge’.
The training aims at educating leaders on trauma healing, says Sister Barbara Paleczny of Solidarity with South Sudan, Radio Good News reports.
She says trauma healing process is based on how to help one another in order to avoid night mares and stress.
Dr Genevieve Van Waesberghe of Medical Missionaries of Mary Sisters told women to have courage as they continue to work for lasting peace in the country.
Participant, Rose Nyidier, urges women to build hope and new love especially in the churches and families.
She calls for change of the society from the spirit of revenge because it is finishing the people of South Sudan.
The training offers an in-depth program called ‘trauma healing and transformation’ designed for both traumatized and stressed professionals and grassroots people.
