The Leader of Minority in the National Legislative Assembly is aspiring to lead the Democratic Change Party or DC following Dr Lam Akol’s resignation.
Onyoti Adigo Nyikwec tells CRN in an interview that youth of Equatoria and Upper Nile regions motivated his ambition.
He says DCP Secretary-General, Deng Bior does not support him.
The DCP Secretary-General on Monday made a press statement that MP Adigo must be punished for his ambition to lead the party, expressing fears of division.
But, MP Adigo says the Secretary-General and his allies must be punished instead for violating internal rules of the party.
He says Secretary-General Deng Bior made a press conference on Monday without the approval and knowledge of the incumbent chairman.
MP Adigo believes DCP is taking over from SPLM soon.
He calls on youth all over the country to join the Democratic Change Party.
The DCP is holding an extraordinary national leadership council meeting in Juba next Saturday to determine MP Adigo’s fate of leadership.
MP Adigo says he was the mastermind running the party, then known as SPLM-DC when Dr Lam Akol was exiled in Khartoum, Sudan.
