Children agency organizes child rights’ conference in Rumbek

Save the Children organization has conducted one-day children’s conference under the theme: Promoting and fulfilling children’s right is a state duty.
 
The conference aims at discussing child rights and things that affect them in society, Radio Good News reports.
 
Save the Children Field Coordinator, Mike Kosgey urges parents and stakeholders to observe the children rights and protect them from grave abuses.
 
Samuel Manyang Mayom, the Director-General of State Ministry of Social Development says many children are contracting diseases in the streets of Rumbek market.
 
He urges government to ban commercial sex workers because they are spoiling children.
 
State Education Minister, Mabor Meen Manyic-nga urges the education partners to support the ministry to provide quality education.
 
He says teacher training is essential for proper learning.
 
Acting Governor, Louise Agum Reuben urges children to focus on becoming future leaders.
 
She encourages children to study and change bad practices in the country.
 
The one-day conference drew together four primary schools.
 
Over 40 stakeholders including parliamentary speaker, deputy and members of Western Lakes State participated in the conference on Friday.
