Wau State government spokesperson has announced security measures to protect citizens from Equatoria amidst threats by some Bahr El Ghazal ethnicity.
A group this week released a statement threatening Equatorians to leave Wau within 72 hours, Radio Voice of Hope reports.
Bona Godensio, the State Spokesperson denies the existence of an association named Greater Bahr El Ghazal Youths in Wau that has issued the threatening statement.
Godensio says the state government held a meeting after receiving the communiqué and decided to provide protection for citizens of Equatoria in Wau.
He says the state government is looking for the group that intends to spoil the reputation of Wau known of peaceful coexistence.
The government shall bring the threatening group to face justice, the spokesperson says.
Godensio calls on Equatorians in Wau to carry on their activities normally.
Last week the same communiqué was released in Aweil town.
