The association of blind people in Wau State will next Monday elect new executive body in the Ministry of Social Development premises.

John Akot, the association Information Chairperson says the plan to elect new executive body after several years of office standstill is overdue, Radio Voice of Hope reports.

Akot explains that the association aims at drawing the attention of the public towards several activities that blind people can do.

He appeals to relevant authorities to think about children of the blind in schools and hospitals as they cannot afford to pay school fees and other necessities due to current economic crisis.

Akot urges families of the blind in Wau State to accompany them to the election venue so that at least two third can participate in the process.

He appeals to government and humanitarian agencies to support the association of the blind.

The blind people’s association was established in 1998.
