The Acting State Minister of Education in Yei has announced the 2015 Senior Three exams’ results.
Jacob Aligo Lo-Lodu says 66 percent of 2796 candidates who sat the examinations passed, Radio Easter reports.
1955 male candidates passed the exams constituting 70 percent as compared to 841 female counterparts constituting 30 percent.
Mariam Musa Nimir from Excel Secondary School emerged the best among girls with 621 marks making 88 percent.
Nathaniel Chol from the same school scored 644 marks making 92 percent as the best student in the state.
Yei Girls’ Senior Secondary School did the best in Yei River State.
69 candidates who sat in Yei Girls’ Senior Secondary School all passed; making 100 percent success.
The minister hails the state for its performance in 2015 Senior Three exams as he challenges parents to send more children to school.
The Senior Three exams’ results qualify the candidates for South Sudan Secondary School Certificate.
They sat 2015 exams in April this year.
The next lot will sit for Senior Four exams to initiate the 8: 4: 4 education system in South Sudan.
