South Sudan Police Spokesperson says records indicate an alarming rise in suicide cases in Juba this year alone.
Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Justin Boulo says there is still no thorough investigation into the cause of rampant suicide in Juba, Radio Bakhita reports.
He discloses that at least 15 cases of suicide have been recorded from August to October this year as compared to five cases in 2015.
The Police Spokesperson says most of the suicide victims were military personnel.
Lieutenant Colonel Justin blames the current economic hardship as a major factor responsible for the rise in suicide cases.
The Police Spokesperson says they are paying special attention to the suicide cases to analyze the length, depth and causes.
He encourages the public to report any case or suspect of suicide to police.
He says police have been collaborating with communities and social workers to create awareness on suicide to provide counselling services.
