The Secretariat of Youth and Sports has formed rotational football matches in Nuba Mountains targeting four teams.
The competitions started on October 18 and will run until October 28, Radio Voice of Peace reports.
Musa Abdurahim Musa, the Director of Youth and Sports’ Secretariat says they want to form a strong team to compete with other teams within and outside the country.
Abdurahim says lack of transport is the main challenge that has hindered other teams from participating in regional football associations.
He adds that they want to establish youth club in the region to improve youth associations.
The director calls on the government of the Nuba Mountains region, non-governmental organizations and communities to support youths in their sports’ activities.
