A man from Jemizy area of Heiban County in the Nuba Mountains shot himself at the cheek last Saturday.
Anur Juma who survived the self-shooting at his daughter’s party sustained wounds.
He narrated that he was taking coffee with others when the gun fired itself at his cheek mistakenly.
He said he did not know the gun was ready to shoot as he held it for the whole day.
Anur said he owned the gun for many years, but could not understand what had happened that day.
He advised all those owning weapons to be careful when carrying them.
Anur is receiving treatment in a local hospital.
