Inadequate health workers due to fleeing workforce increases the work load of remaining few personnel in Yei River State, says State Health Minister.

Kogo Manase Levi says few health facilities operating now in the state are running short of workers and drugs, Radio Easter reports.

He adds that ‘drugs have become scarce because the demand is so high’ in the state.

Manase says there is need to train more medical counsellors and psychiatric doctors to heal trauma and other mental complications.

He says the state government is planning to train more medical personnel if peace returns to the country.

The minister was speaking at St Bakhita Health Centre on World Mental Health Day.
