Stop using shipping containers for imprisoning people, says Anglican Advisor

A suspect, who was earlier on arrested and released without charges, says they were badly tortured in prison, a claim denied by a government official.
 
In a report filed by CRN reporter, the suspect says his imprisonment was linked to armed opposition activities.
 
A charge, he had strongly denied.
 
The prisoner on condition of anonymity claims that he was burned on his back.
 
The Advisor of the Archbishop of Canterbury on Anglican Communion Affairs, Right Reverend Anthony Poggo is appealing to the Government of South Sudan to build proper houses for imprisoning people rather than using shipping containers.
 
Shipping containers are not meant for imprisoning people, he laments.
 
Right Reverend Poggo also urges the government to listen to the voices of those who have taken up arms so that they return home peacefully.
 
He challenges the government to recruit people on bases of merits as a reform programme in South Sudan.
 
South Sudanese authorities always warn the church against remarking on politics.
 
But, Right Reverend Poggo says it is the role of the church to talk against anything wrong in a society.
 
The Governor of Yei River State observes that South Sudan is wasting time as young people continue dying.
