Yei River State Assembly in its first sitting on Wednesday unanimously passed the inaugural speech of Governor David Lokonga Moses with 56 recommendations.
The parliament recommends dialogue between the government and armed opposition to peacefully resolve grievances, says Malish Noel Scopas, Acting Chairperson of Information Committee.
He says the parliament wants inclusion and consultation of local chiefs ‘in any security affairs of their areas’.
Malish adds that the state assembly valued the importance of professionalism of the SPLA, discipline among the army and the protection of civilians.
The acting assembly information committee chairperson says the assembly decries the lack of free movement of citizens along highways.
