The economic crisis in South Sudan has forced mobile companies in South Sudan to increase airtime charges to 3.15 South Sudanese Pounds.

MTN Regional Sale Manager, James Ajith, told Radio Good News on Friday that the telecommunication companies increased tariffs because of high cost of production.

He discloses that the increment is to keep the companies working because communication is an important aspect of life.

Ajith urges people to continue communicating because the increase of tariffs is temporary and will not take long if the economic crisis returns to normal.

Lakes State Regional Sale Manager was responding to the citizens’ complains toward the new airtimes charges.
