Norwegian Church Aid or NCA in partnership with the State Ministry of Health trained 30 health promoters from Lafon and Lopa County on good use of water and sanitation facilities.
Bongomin Godfrey who facilitates the training, says the aim of the course is to enlighten health promoters to educate communities on water facilities’ maintenance, Radio Emmanuel reports.
Atoo Magdalene Kolong is a participant from Lopa County. She says the training has enabled her to understand the causes of poor health in her community.
Increase trainings on awareness so that hygiene and sanitation can be improved in Imotong State especially in rural areas, she urges stakeholders.
Atari John Elia, a health promoter from Lafon County, says the training helps improved on the maintenance of water points and ways of sewage disposal.
John cites the ignorance of people on the use and maintenance of water sources as a challenge to service delivery.
