The National Communication Authority says it is developing a system to crack down the importation of fake mobile phones.
The new system will help officials to verify genuine products before entering the market, Wani Lodu Kenyi, Director-General of the Authority told Radio Bakhita.
He reveals that a plan to install a revenue assurance system to monitor the charges imposed by telecommunication companies is under way.
The Director-General says the system will enable the government to monitor revenues generated by telecommunication operators to avoid cheating.
