Several women in Longute, Moruari and Mission residential areas are contributing money to fund the repair of a residential borehole that broke down a month ago.
Natalina Ifuho, Water Maintenance Committee member in Longute, says they have suffered water shortage for long and want each family to contribute, Radio Emmanuel reports.
The committee member says the contribution will be a monthly obligation for every family so that any similar breakdown can quickly be repaired.
Yolanda Karama, a resident in Moruari, urges her fellow women to work hard in maintaining the cleanliness of the borehole and put some regulations to maintain hygiene.
The residents of the affected areas have been moving long distances in search of water for about a month following the breakdown of the only borehole.
