Joint Monitoring Evaluation Committee or JMEC Chairman expresses concerns over the escalation of violence and violations of human rights across the country since July.
Festus Mogae in a press statement warns that such violations of the ceasefire will not allow the peace to be derailed.
He believes the solution to the conflict in South Sudan can only be found through dialogue and peaceful means, inclusive and representative governance.
Mogae calls upon all parties to the agreement to return to the table and show the leadership that the people deserve.
He confirms that the next JMEC Plenary meeting will take place next Wednesday in Juba.
JMEC will present a report to board members, including representatives of the Transitional Government of National Unity, South Sudanese stakeholders, IGAD member states, international partners and friends of South Sudan.
