The Office of the President expects authorities in Yei River State to form a committee to find out about people said to be under arbitrary imprisonment.

Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs, Daniel Awet Akot, says the committee should give its report on October 17 this year, Radio Easter reports.

He says the authorities should form the committee within this week to compile a full report including the reasons of arrests.

Awet tells security organs to make ‘no more arrests’ saying the committee should work in consultation with the governor in case of unclear issues.

Brigade Commander, Chol Deng Chol promises to continue working for the public interests and trace out those alleged to be under detention.

The leaders spoke during a public rally on Monday at Yei Freedom Square.
