A public rally in Yei expected on Tuesday was postponed again following the visit of the UN delegation to meet state government, church, partners’ leaders and local people in the area.
Yei River State government spokesperson, Stephen Lado Onesimo, told Radio Easter on Tuesday that the rally will take place next week and notice would be given on the exact day.
He said it was wise for the people and the government of the state to first give the humanitarian agencies a chance to do their work.
Mr Lado called on the public to remain calm for the rally next week.
Presidential Special Advisor, Clement Wani Konga and Political Advisor Daniel Awet Akot were expected to address a rally on Saturday last week which was also pushed to Tuesday this week.
They could use the rally to send a key message of peace to amicably address the ongoing insecurity in the state.
