Ethiopia receives a thousand refugees daily as the situation worsens in South Sudan, according to the report of Danish Refugee Council.
The Council said more than 32 thousand South Sudanese have sought refuge in the Gambella region of Ethiopia since the beginning of September.
The report says the Council is mobilizing resources to assist them and that it constructed emergency shelters for 1,200 households in the last weeks.
Additional 200 emergency shelters are being finalized in the two days and it also assists persons with disabilities and special needs upon arrival to Tierkidi camp in the region, it notes.
Council Country Director in Ethiopia James Curtis says the situation across the border is extremely serious with a combination of recent fighting and hunger.
He explains that 32 thousand new arrivals join 286 thousand South Sudanese refugees living in the camps in Gambella since the war broke out in December 2013.
The Council is receiving a high number of unaccompanied minors which increases the urgency for a rapid response, says Curtis.
He says the Council remains closely engaged with actors to scale up the efforts, if the number of new refugees continues to grow in the coming weeks.
