Yei River Governor is calling on the people in the state to immediately report to the authorities any arrest made by security officials for urgent follow up.
David Lokonga Moses reminds citizens to immediately write down those who arrested their fellows, the time and report to the commissioner’s office, Radio Easter reports.
Lokonga warned security officials to stop arresting people unnecessarily, but they should follow legal procedures.
He says anybody arrested should be known and detainers be dealt with in accordance to the law without delay.
The Governor reiterates that he ‘needs peace not cries of the people in the state’.
Governor Lokonga also cautions the public over spreading rumours and that social media users should not over exaggerate the situation in Yei.
The Governor was speaking on Saturday when Yei local community were welcoming new Yei River County Commissioner Bidali Cosmas Wori-Kojo.
