Persons with disabilities in Yei River State of South Sudan are terribly scared due to the acts of insecurity in the area, a Senior Supervisor of a Community Based Rehabilitation Project, reports.
Visually impaired and physically disabled people spend sleepless nights because they could not flee the war, Simon Lomude Lado, laments during a one-day awareness on persons with disabilities, Radio Easter reports.
He discloses that the project is managing some activities including abroad referrals of severe mental illnesses to Uganda for treatment.
Insecurity hinders ability to reach services to many clients in rural areas, Mr Lomude regrets.
He says they are giving awareness to parents and persons with disabilities to restore hope.
Mr Lomude demands respect for the poor and vulnerable group in the country.
The Community Based Rehabilitation project in Yei is under the Episcopal Church of South Sudan and Sudan.
